Hamburger Paragraph Review

Transitions are words that smoothly connect one idea to the next.
Often, they show a relationship within a paragraph (or within a sentence) between the main idea and the support the author gives for those ideas. Transitions are represented by the condiments: ketchup and mustard.

Consider the last paragraph on page 156 in SightLines 8 from "What I Learned From Raoul Wallenberg":

Notice the transition word however is used to contrast two different ideas: concrete awards and intangible love.
Paragraph size is based on the format or medium. A newspaper column may have one sentence paragraphs; a blog may have short paragraphs; while a book will have a larger paragraph. Generally, you will write book-sized paragraphs in Language Arts 8.
