Almost everything that happens in life has a cause and an effect.

Why does Figure 2 make a good model for a sequence of causes and effects?
Discuss causes or effects in a logical order. Usually, the most important ideas come at the end, but you can progress in several ways:

  1. least obvious to most obvious
    ex. My task as a writer is to make you hear, to make you feel, and, above all, to make you understand.
  2. most obvious to least obvious
    ex. Rather than money or fame or love, give me truth .
  3. most important to least important
    ex. Teens are tormented by fear, by emotional clumsiness, and by zits.
  4. least important to most important
    ex. When angry, count to four; when very angry, stomp your feet.
  5. sequence
    ex. First, second, third [or final]....
