Assignment

People travel to wonder at the height of the mountains, at the huge waves of the seas, at the long course of the rivers, at the vast compass of the ocean, at the circular motion of the stars, and yet they pass by themselves without wondering.

Small Worlds

The powers of imagination are stretched to picture what a molecule might look like or to understand how all the millions of components of the body work together.

Strange but True!

Incredible phenomena is happening in our bodies all the time.

Have you thought about the extraordinary things, hidden from your view, which constantly work to keep you alive?

Consider the following awe-inspiring voyage:

  • A red blood cell can circumnavigate your body in less than 20 seconds.

  • In one day, the blood travels a total of 19,000 km - that's four times the distance from coast to coast across Canada.

  • If all arteries, veins and capillaries of the human circulatory system were laid end to end, the total length would be 100,000 km. That's nearly two and a half times around the Earth!
