Lesson 3 β€” Activity 3: Autobiography

Simply put, an autobiography is the story of a person’s life as written by that individual. Most autobiographies are told from a first person point of view (I, me, my, we, us, our).

Autobiographies can take many different forms: oral or written records of a person's life story often turn into books, audio recordings, and movies. Intimate writings produced during a person's lifetime, including letters, diaries, and journals can be used for inspiration in the autobiography.

Why write an autobiography?

  • to share what and who you are
  • to leave a message to future generations
  • to pass on your heritage
  • to put closure to a period or episode
  • to preserve family history
