Theme 2: Constructing Meaning in Literature
In this
theme, you will learn the importance of the text's meaning
to the reader. Responding to literature is the way you react to
something that you have read or listened to. This process begins as you think about the text before you read it and continues during and after reading. When you respond to
something that you have read, it helps you to develop a deeper
understanding of what you have read, and it also helps you relate what
you have read to your own personal experiences.
