Lesson 15Activity 2:

Proofreading

You have completed the steps to write your entire report. Well done!!

However, before your hand it in to your teacher, you need to go through the steps necessary to proofread it and make any changes. Proofreading any piece of writing requires that you read through it slowly and make any changes needed. There are a number of ways to approach proofreading and editing.

This lesson provides some suggestions for proofreading. These steps will work for anything you need to write, from simple sentences and paragraphs to larger essays and reports. Whenever you are asked to do a big piece of writing, proofreading is a necessary step. Correcting mistakes and weaknesses shows your reader that you have taken the time to polish your work to make it the best possible copy for marking.
