        • Why did the nobles, bankers, shopkeepers, craftspeople - almost everyone - want more political power?
        • What did they do to see that their interests to keep business growing were valued by the governments?

  1. Read pages 54 and 55 of your textbook.
      • Answer the following questions in your Reading/Study Guide.

        • What did very rich people such as the Medicis do that resulted in the production of great works of art and literature?
        • Do rich people continue to do this today? Should they?
