• Where did Columbus think he was? Why?
  
• Is it accurate to say Columbus discovered America? Explain your answer.

1. Think about: How is Yuri Gagarin's mission similar to Columbus's first voyage?


2. Think about the similarities and differences between the Space Program and the early Age of Exploration.
   
• Did they face similar unknowns?
  
• Would the excitement level be similar?
  
• Would fear be part of each voyage?
