Lesson 2 is about an important social studies skill – identifying and using primary and secondary sources.


Figures 2.1 and 2.2 show two sources of information about the Aztecs.

Figure 2.1 is an image of the textbook used for this course. Figure 2.2 is a picture of part of the Borbonicus Codex.


Which of these sources is a primary source, and which is a secondary source?

What kind of information can we learn from these sources? Is one better than the other?
