How can using a war affect a conquered people's worldview?

The result of losing a war is devastating to a country’s people. Almost every aspect of life changed for the survivors of the Spanish conquest.

Two of the significant changes for the people were in religion and in the new economic system that emerged.

Many of the Aztec people believed they had been abandoned by their gods when the conquistadors defeated them. Some were willing to convert to Christianity, but most were converted by force.
