In Lesson 4A you learned how to find the non-permissible values for a single rational expression. How does this change for a multiplication question? Use the denominators from both rational expressions to find the non-permissible values for their product.

When multiplying fractions, you use the following rule:
The same rule applies to rational expressions.
When multiplying fractions, you reduce the product to lowest terms. You have already learned how to do this with rational expressions. We called it simplifying, and it is what you practiced in Lesson 4A.
