        Communication

In lesson 1, you learned that communication allows us to express ourselves to others. We can learn to be better communicators by exploring and understanding the communication process.

Communication usually involves two or more people. One of the people, the sender, has a message to communicate with the other person, the receiver.
The process of communication is reversed when the receiver decides to reply to the message. When describing communication, we use the word feedback for the reply.  Feedback is a way of making sure the sender and receiver have understood the message.

Communication can take many forms. For example, we can speak, read, write, listen, watch, draw, sing, yell, cry, whisper, gesture, smile, or frown. The ways in which we can communicate are almost endless.

In this lesson, you will learn more about how communication helps us to express and interpret messages effectively.
