Icons
The course icons are important to identify activities and other important information. When you open a page in Moodle, look at the title banner. You will see an icon followed by the section of the unit and then the title of the page.

Unit and Writing Setup
The course has 8 Units.
Units 1 through 6 have additional sections called "Writing."
They are located immediately after the Units. The "Writing" section goes along with the corresponding Unit. You should work on both the Unit and the Writing section at the same time.

You can look up words in the Glossary alphabetically or by category (Unit).
If you see a word red on a course page, you can click on it and it will show you the glossary definition.
You can also print out lists of vocabulary per Unit from the Glossary.

ADLC's Plagiarism Policy
When you are taking this course (or any course), it's important that everything you submit is your own work. This means that you can't copy and paste from a website or other source. You are welcome to use other sources to help you, but write everything
in your own words. If you used a website to help you in a project, write down the name of the website. If you aren't sure if something is plagiarism, ask your teacher.
This includes Google Translate and other online translation programs. You are welcome to use them to help you with words or phrases, but if you use Google Translate to write your sentences and paragraphs for you, this is also plagiarism. We want to know how good your Japanese is, not Google's.

- The first time you plagiarize, you will get a 0 on the assignment. You'll need to redo the plagiarized work, and we'll put a note in your file to let other teachers know that this has happened. Once you redo the plagiarized assignment, you'll get a new mark on that assignment.
- The second time you plagiarize, even if it's in a different course than the first time, you'll get a 0 on the plagiarized assignment. You won't get a chance to redo it for marks. We will follow up with your local school and/or your parents.
- If you plagiarize a third time, even in a different course, you'll be withdrawn from the course, and you won't get any credit.
Can I ask someone I know for help?
Yes, of course! If you know someone who speaks Japanese, then talking with them is one of the best ways to practise what you're learning. The work you submit still needs to be your own work, but you can definitely ask someone to help you figure out parts you are having trouble with.Using Japanese Font
How to Install Japanese Text

Step 2: Type "Control Panel" and then click on the Control Panel Desktop app.
Step 3: Select "Clock, Language and Region."
Step 4: Click "Add a language."
Step 5: Select "Japanese."
Step 6: Select "Add."
