A wetland consists of three main parts: water, plants, and animals.
The type of wetland is determined by the amount of water (either on top of the land or soaked into the land), and the types of species that thrive in it.
Species are a group of animals, plants, or other living things that are similar and can produce young.
In this lesson, you will learn about the various kinds of wetlands.
You will also learn about why wetlands matter.
- What happens in and around a wetland that makes people so interested in them?
-
Can a wetland do something that we value? What can that be?
