Lesson 7 Introduction
Completion requirements
This lesson is about how people can both cause problems and create solutions in our wetlands. You
will learn how the actions of people, both deliberate and
non-deliberate, have caused great change and sometimes endangered and sometimes benefited our
wetlands, including plant and animal life.

As you work with the following resources, focus on these questions:
- What human changes in land use in the past caused problems for wetlands?
- Why did people do things that caused so much damage?
- Does this continue today?
-
How do human actions benefit wetlands?
-
What are other issues that involve wetlands?
