- The parts of plants (pistils, stamens, ovary, pollen).
- Seeds are undeveloped plants, with stored food in a protective covering.
- Plants make food from sunlight by a process called photosynthesis.
- Photosynthesis uses sunlight and carbon dioxide, to make sugars and release oxygen.
- Xylem moves water and minerals (this is the wood in a tree).
- Phloem moves sugars all over the plant.
- Perennials live for multiple growing seasons (think trees).
- Annuals only live for one growing season (crops in the field, and some flowers that you put in your garden).
