1. What is decomposition?
  • The process where organic material is broken down into simpler forms.  It is accomplished by bacteria, worms, and fungi, creating soil.

3. How can people use worms to help decompose waste?
  • When worms are given food scraps and a cool, moist place to live, they consume the food scraps and poop out castings- which are essentially soil.
