Targets

Step outside and breathe the fresh air, feel the warm sunlight on your face, stop to smell some flowers!  You have just enjoyed some of the earth’s natural resources.

Natural resources are things we get from the environment, such as air, sunlight, water, plants, animals, soil, and land. We depend on natural resources every day. Some natural resources are renewable. That means that they will grow back or there will always be more to use, such as plants, wind, and sunlight. Some natural resources are non-renewable. This means that when they are used up, they are done. Resources such as oil and coal are non-renewable. It is so important for us to conserve the natural resources that are in our world. To conserve means that we are careful to save and protect them. All the garbage and waste that people throw out can harm the environment and the natural resources. Fortunately, we can conserve natural resources by learning how to reduce, reuse, and recycle our waste!
