When you put your shoes on, have you ever thought about where they came from?  This is not as simple an answer as saying they came from a shoe factory!  Think about the various materials that are used to make a shoe, how each material was made, and how the materials are put together to make a shoe.

What happens when you outgrow your shoes or when the shoes are worn?  How do you get rid of old shoes?  Are the shoes garbage, or can they be reused or recycled in some way?  There is a process to making all products no matter how simple the product may seem or how complex.
