Unit B: Chemistry

Learning Targets

Unit Overview

Chemistry…  What do you think of when you hear that word?

The word chemistry often elicits images of beakers, test tubes, people in lab coats and mixing substances.  But chemistry is so much more. The wonders of chemistry are everywhere.  Can you imagine a world without chemistry, or even a world where people didn't understand how or why everyday processes happened?

Unit Breakdown

Essential Question

What are the building blocks for chemistry?

This unit has four sections.  Each section contains a BIG question that will focus your study.  Within each section is a series of lessons with Inquiry Questions to help you answer that BIG question.  Before you finish each section, you will be asked to demonstrate your understanding of the BIG question in one of various ways.
