Recall two functions can be added together or subtracted from one another.

By collecting like terms, the functions can be combined to make a new function.

Functions can also be multiplied or divided. By following algebraic rules and factoring techniques, we can develop new functions from the multiplication or division of functions.

Also, new functions can be made by embedding a function in another. Substitution of one function into the variable of another function results in a composition of functions.
