The elements of a mixed economy may include the following freedoms:
- Freedom to to own the means of production
- Freedom to participate in government and corporate decision-making
- Freedom to choose what to buy or sell
- Freedom to communicate (advertise products, speak against inappropriate business activity, speak against government intervention)
- Freedom of assembly (labour unions, professional associations, non-profit organizations, corporate organizations
- Freedom from excessive poverty (social programs, income assistance, childcare benefits)
