Ongoing Activity-Large Map of Canada
Open your Large Map of Canada and Chart that you saved in your Unit 1 Notebook.
On the map, begin a legend. Use a triangle symbol for the Appalachian Mountains. Use other resource symbols for Hibernia oil; PEI and Annapolis Valley farming; Grand Banks cod, shrimp, and crab fishing; a Labrador hydroelectric plant; and Nova Scotia coal mines. Identify these on the map. Identify the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of St. Lawrence. Then, complete the Atlantic Region Chart. Include:

The geography of the region such as landforms, climate, natural resources, and names of provinces.

The history of the region such as why people settled there, who settled the area, and some key events.

The effects of people on the geography and the effects of the geography on people.

You may include pictures. You will be adding to this chart after you finish each region.
Save your chart in your Unit 1 Notebook, you will add to it during each of the next five units. You do NOT submit it at this time.
