Ongoing Activity-Large Map of Canada
Open your Large Map of Canada that you saved in your Unit 1 Notebook.
Add symbols and information to the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Lowlands Region portion of the map to show important information about the area. You should include megapolis information (Toronto, Ottawa-Gatineau, Montreal, Quebec City) and name the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River. In the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Lowlands Chart below, include information that will tell about:
- The geography of the region such as Niagara Falls, Niagara Escarpment, and protected sand dunes
- The history of the region including New France, Seven Years War, Royal Proclamation, United Empire Loyalists, Upper and Lower Canada, and/or the Great Migration
- The resources in the region such as the St. Lawrence seaway; how they are being used and how they are being conserved.
- The effects of the geography and climate on people
- The effects of people on the geography such as the St. Lawrence seaway and the megapolis or large city.

You may include pictures for the Great Lakes - St. Lawrence Lowlands Region.
Save your chart in your Unit 1 Notebook, you will add to it during each of the next four units. You do NOT submit it at this time.
