You might see the Canadian coat of arms on a shield or you might see a shield in a museum, but those are not the real Canadian Shield.

Rocks, so strong that they require dynamite to build houses, form the Canadian Shield. The Canadian Shield is Canada's foundation. It covers over 4 800 000 sq km. This region covers half of Canada and forms the shape of a horseshoe.
