In this lesson, you will consider various maps of the Canadian Shield region.  After you have examined the maps, you will be able to...

  • tell the names of the provinces in this region
  • identify the large body of water at the centre of the region
  • tell about the populations of cities in the region
  • name a major industry in the region
  • describe the region’s relative location to the remainder of Canada
  • review what you know about latitude and longitude to find the relative and absolute location of places on the map

This map does not show cities and towns.  You would not want to use it to find your way across Canada by car!
