Observe: A Finland Forest

To many people who love to visit forests to camp, hike, fish, watch birds, or just relax with their friends and family, trees and forests have value that cannot be given a price tag.

Even in winter, forests are beautiful natural recreation areas. They are a source of fresh air and scenery that makes activities such as snowshoeing very healthy and fun.

Whether as a habitat for animals and plants, or recreation area for humans, forests are valuable natural resources. As you continue your studies, always consider the many ways that trees might be valuable.

Biodiversity: (short for biological diversity) is the term used to describe the variety of life on Earth. It includes both living things and the processes that support them.
