1.5 Más Práctica

A conversation is a two way street. Can you ask questions as well as answer them?

It gets repetitive to say the whole question again. Use this easy technique:

¿Cómo te llamas?
Me llamo Victor. ¿Y tú?
¿Cómo estás?
Estoy bien, gracias. ¿Y usted?
Mucho gusto!
¡Igualmente! Adiós.
Hasta mañana.
Are you getting used to the punctuation marks at the beginning of phrases and sentences.
Make sure you know how to do them and accents on your keyboard for your 1.6 Assignment.

Now it is time to check your understanding, and to practice.

For each situation, choose the correct greeting.

Video Watching Strategies
Observe the speakers. What are they doing? Most people use hand signals and body language while they are talking.

Use your eyes to see if they are

  • pointing to something
  • touching or holding something
  • smiling, laughing, or crying
  • talking to someone else

There are many things that you can understand just by observing the speaker. Also, pay attention to what the person says. You may recognize some words. Then, make a connection with what you see and the words that you already know. You will have an idea of what they are saying.

At the beginning it’s difficult, but you will begin to understand more and more with practice. So keep your eyes open
