¿A qué hora es la clase de español? → Es a la una.
What time is Spanish class? → It's at one o'clock. The singular verb es is used because it is referring to la clase de español (singular), and the singular article la is used because we are in the hour of one o'clock. Notice that the word a has been inserted into the answer to be more specific about the time of the Spanish class. If you removed the a from the sentence, the meaning would change to say it's one o'clock in general instead of the Spanish class is at one o'clock. Therefore, it's important to include the a depending on what you are trying to communicate.
¿A qué hora es la fiesta? → Es a las tres.
What time is the party? → It's at three o'clock. The singular verb es is used because it is referring to the singular noun la fiesta. The plural article las is used because the time is three o'clock, and the a is used to specify at what time the party is as opposed to saying that it's generally three o'clock.
¿A qué hora es la clase de historia? → Es a las ocho de la mañana.
What time is history class? → It's at eight in the morning. Add these expressions to specify AM or PM.
