3.3 What is the Date?
When you want to tell the date in Spanish, use the following phrase: Hoy es + day of the week, + number + de + month.

When you want to ask the date in Spanish, you say:
¿Qué fecha es hoy?
¿Qué fecha es hoy?
Hoy es martes, cinco de marzo.

The only date that does not follow this pattern is the first of the month. You must say:
Hoy es lunes, primero de septiembre.
Hoy es lunes, primero de septiembre.

Notice that days of the week and names of the month are not capitalized in Spanish.
Hoy es martes. Mañana es miércoles.
