4.6 Spanish on Menus and in Advertisements
Now that you are more aware of where Spanish may appear in our everyday environment,
take a look at a North American menu and a window advertisement.
North American Menu
There are many words that you will find on restaurant menus that are actually Spanish words.
Look at the menu tab. Do you see any Spanish words? Jot down the items on the menu that you think are Spanish words. See if you can find them all!
When you check the answers, if you don't actually know what these foods are, do a quick search to find out - you may actually have tried them, just by their anglicized names.

You are helping your friend redecorate her bedroom and you both decide to go the Muebleria Sánchez - a family-owned furniture store in the Hispanic neighborhood that advertises los mejores precios del barrio. You recognize this anucio on the widonw: ¡Venta de muebles hoy!
