5.3 Forming Questions in the Clothing Store

While you are shopping you often need to ask the dependiente about price or size. Below are some common questions you may ask when shopping for clothes.

You are already familiar with ¿Cuánto cuesta? but there are other questions you can use to get the information you need to make a good purchase. Here are some other common questions you should know before you go shopping for clothes.

¿Qué precio tiene...? What's the price of...?

You may want to ask this instead of ¿Cuánto cuesta? to verify a price.

Example

¿Qué precio tiene el vestido
¿Hay un descuento? Is there a discount?

You may want to ask if the item is discounted, or "on sale."

Example

¿ El vestido tiene descuento? ¿Cuánto?... The clerk may answer? 40% (cuarenta por ciento)
¿Qué talla tiene Ud.? What size do you have?

You may want to ask this when you are looking for a particular size.

Example

Me gusta mucho esta camiseta. ¿Qué talla tiene Ud. en la camiseta azul?

Keep these questions in mind as you move through the lesson.
