7.3 Using -go Verbs


Now you will learn how to conjugate verbs that are irregular in the yo form. They are also referred as the "yo—go" verbs because the yo form conjugation ends in —go

The first step is recognizing them. Your task is to find the 6 -go verbs in Irene's post.

Poner


In a previous unit, you learned the expression for setting the table, poner la mesa. The verb poner also means to put or to place. Another —er verb like poner is hacer.

Hacer


hacer: to do, to make

hacer: to do, to make
Yo hago  Nosotros/Nosotras hacemos 
haces  Vosotros/Vosotras hacéis 
Él/Ella/Usted hace  Ellos/Ellas/Uds hacen 

The verb hacer means to do and to make. It is also used with the following expressions:

hacer surfing: to surf → I surf in the spring.
Yo hago surfing en la primavera.

hacer surfing de vela: to windsurf → I windsurf in the summer.
Yo hago surfing de vela en el verano.

hacer la maleta: to pack → I pack for my trip.
Yo hago la maleta para el viaje.
