8.5 Stem-changing Verbs (e — i)

You have learned about e — ie stem-changing verbs such as pensar, querer, preferir, entender, cerrar, and empezar. You have also learned about the o — ue stem-changing verbs such as dormir, poder, almorzar, encontrar, and volver.

  The last group of stem-changing verbs are those that change from e — i such as the verbs you will learn in this lesson:  pedir, repetir, servir.
These verbs are conjugated like the other stem-changing verbs except you change the e to i. Remember, there is no stem change in the nosotros and vosotros forms.

3. El niño repite las frases cómicas de los dibujos animados. 
4. Nosotros repetimos la información del documental. 
5. ¿Qué palabra vosotros repetís en la clase cada viernes? 
6. Ellas repiten la tarea porque no entienden. 

1. Yo les sirvo la comida a mis hermanos. 
2. Cuando preparas la comida, ¿qué les sirves a tu familia? 
3. ¿Por qué sirve usted pizza a los niños por la mañana? 
4. Nosotros servimos la comida a las seis. 
5. Vosotros servís muchos dulces cuando los amigos ven películas. 
6. Los meseros sirven la comida en los restaurantes.
