KWL Graphic Organizer
KWL is a strategy to help you activate your prior knowledge before reading and to help you to make connections to new ideas as you read. Please create a chart (see chart below) according to the following directions. Don't forget to fill in the topic at the top of the chart!
Step One: Fill in the "K" section of the chart with what you already know (or think you know) about Hispanic culture and the Spanish language.
Step Two: Fill in the "W" section of the chart with what you want to learn about Hispanic culture and the Spanish language (and "nothing" is not an acceptable answer).
Step Three: Keep this chart and take notes as you read this Unit to fill in the "L" section of the chart with what you learned about Hispanic culture and the Spanish language. Do your best to answer the questions you created in the "W" section of the chart.
