Frequently Asked Questions

  1.   My scanner does not scan single pdf files.  What should I do?

  1. Here are some suggestions to help you scan a single pdf file:

Option 1: If you are scanning picture files, copy and paste your pictures into a Word document. Just make sure each page is inserted in order, and right side up. You can then save the Word doc as a pdf. Go to file, click save as…in the “save as type” scroll down to pdf.

Option 2: If you are scanning jpegs files, change the setting on your scanner to that is scans a single pdf file. If your scanner doesn’t have the option to scan one single pdf file you can use PDF Merge to combine each pdf into a single document. http://www.pdfmerge.com/

Option 3: If you are scanning multiple jpegs files, use this online service to convert them to a single pdf document. http://www.convert-jpg-to-pdf.net/

Option 4: Use your smart phone or tablet to scan your assignments as a single pdf. If you have a smart phone or tablet and would like to use it to scan your assignment pages as a pdf file, you can try the following apps:

    Apple iPhone/tablet: TinyScan, DocScan

    Android: CamScanner
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.intsig.camscanner&hl=en

Use the app to take a picture of each page and convert it into a single pdf file. Email the pdf file to yourself, then from a computer open, save it, then upload it to your online course for marking.

  1. How can I sketch a graph in my Word Doc assignment?

  1. Sketch the graph using a paint program on your computer, then cut and paste it into the assignment. Alternately, you can sketch the graph on a piece of paper, take a picture of your sketch, email it to yourself, then from a computer, copy and paste it into your word doc assignment.
