  1. The axis of symmetry is shown as a dashed line on the graph. In general, the equation of the axis of symmetry is \(x = p\), and for this graph, \(p = 2\), therefore the equation of the axis of symmetry is \(x = 2\).




  2. The axis of symmetry is shown as a dashed line on the graph. In general, the equation of the axis of symmetry is \(x = p\), and for this graph, \(p = −1\), therefore the equation of the axis of symmetry is \(x = −1\).
