Read the green paragraph at the top of page 8 in your reader, Literacy in Action 5A to learn about a "biography".  What is it?

Terry Fox - A Canadian Hero


Terry Fox was a Canadian athlete who lost a leg to cancer.


He started the Marathon of Hope to raise money for cancer research. He raised $1.7 million before he died at the age of 22.


Websites


The Internet, encyclopedias, books, movies, and magazines are good places to find biographies (true stories) of famous people.  You can learn more about Terry Fox by clicking on CBC News Canada - The Legacy of Terry Fox's Dream.
