How Do Games Influence People?

Reader's Notebook

Have Your Say! - Internet Games: Fun but Be Aware!

Pages 12 and 13 in Literacy in Action 5B.

The three reading strategies you have been using to make meaning of opinions are using what you know, visualizing, and synthesizing. You will practise using these strategies when you read Have Your Say! - Internet Games: Fun but Be Aware!

Click each coloured row for information about the activity.

All reading strategies are connected.

For example, when you use what you know, you often ask questions - you are using two reading strategies together. (Asking questions is a reading strategy you have practiced in previous units). Good readers choose strategies that will best help them - they work with more than one strategy at a time. You will be using what you know and visualizing at the same time when you read this article.
