Lesson 7

Reader's Notebook

The Wacky Games Hall of Fame

Pages 27 to 30 in Literacy in Action 5B.

Have you ever visited a hall of fame? There are many different types of halls of fame, including music and sports. For example, the Canadian Hockey Hall of Fame is in Toronto, Ontario. In this hall of fame, you can see things like pictures of famous and important hockey players and teams, hockey jerseys from many different time periods, and equipment that players have used over the years. You can also read information about each of the people in the hall of fame.

In this reading selection, you will learn about some of the stranger games that people play around the world. Some of these games are gigantic versions of common board games, and some are amazing and unusual.
