Now, you will think about the elements of the story you just read:
- The Strangest Friend (pages 70 to 71 in Literacy in Action 5)
- The Abandoned House (pages 72 to 73 in Literacy in Action 5)
- The Case of the Ruby Earrings (pages 74 to 75 in Literacy in Action 5)
A story map is a graphic organizer. It helps you identify the elements of a story. By identifying story characters, plot, setting, problem and solution, you read carefully to learn the details.
Fill out the story map for the story you read.

Save
How to save a file:
- Scan the document to your computer.
- Have the file open and select Save As from the File menu.
- Name your file in one of the following formats and save the file to your Documents folder.

- The Abandoned House story map (save as jsmith_storymaphouse)
- The Case of the Ruby Earrings story map (save as jsmith_storymapearrings)
