Idioms
Idioms are phrases that don't make sense when you look at all the words separately.
They are also another type of figurative language. In the Readerβs Notebook: The Game Master's Challenge there are a few examples of idioms:
- It gives me the willies! (Makes someone scared or nervous)
- Really sick joke (Not really funny; upsetting)
- It's too corny (Silly)
When you have read the play once or twice, look at the sheet Idioms...They Drive Me Batty!
For each of the idioms listed, explain what it means, and use it in a sentence.
