Verbs
Verbs are action words.
Some examples of action words are as follows:
- Run
- Jump
- Eat
- Sleep
- Talk

- You have covered verbs in previous lessons. If you need a reminder of what verbs are and how they work, you can watch the short video, Verbs and their Objects.

In the story A Mysteriously Good Writer, the author uses many different word choices to describe Eric Wilson's writing process. On the page Building Dynamic Sentences, list six verbs in order that describe Eric's writing process.
Then, make a list of five more verbs that could be used to describe any writing process. For example, some writers have to research their subject. Research is a verb and an example of a step in any writing process.
