The Fabric of Canada
This report mentions something called the "fabric of Canada." This relates to how all the people and cultures in Canada are woven together.

- Download the document Definition Web.
- IMPORTANT NOTE: When the download screen opens:
- Click the "Open with" button.
- Select "Adobe Reader".
- Click "OK".
- You will then be able to view the document Definition Web.
- Print the document.
On this sheet, you are asked to find six words or phrases from the report Quilt of Belonging that connect with the idea of the "fabric of Canada." Write these words or phrases in the boxes around the sun graphic. Underneath, write what these words or phrases mean in your own words. Here's an example:
- Word or phrase: "monument in stitches" - meaning: using sewing to create a monument that shows that Canada is multicultural, or made up of many cultures.
After you have found your six words or phrases, answer the final question on the page:
- How did the process of defining these words and phrases give you a better understanding of the idea of the "fabric of Canada?"
Save
How to save a file:
- Scan the document to your computer.
- Have the file open and select Save As from the File menu.
- Name your Definition Web file in this format: jsmith_definitionweb and save the file to your Documents folder.
