The Incredible Journey: Missing Poster

The first activity for these chapters is to design a Missing Poster for all three animals OR the animal of your choice.

You may choose to create a poster by hand, scan it and send it to your teacher via email or use the Printing Press to design an online poster.

  1. Look for three images of the breed of animal you are making the poster about. If you'd like to search for an image to use, try these sites:


Save the images to your Documents folder with the file name format: Image of Siamese 1.


  1. You will now make a poster of your information. The purpose for making this poster is to make the public aware that a pet is missing. The poster should provide:

  • Name of the animal
  • Description of the animal
  • Length of time missing
  • Person to contact if the animal is seen or found

  1. Go to the Printing Press to make a Missing Poster for the animal you have chosen. Follow these directions in the Printing Press:

  • Start by clicking Create a New Document
  • Choose Flyer/Sign/Poster
  • Choose Flyer #3
  • There are three text areas. Decide how you want to divide your information up.
    • Begin with the top text area.
    • Then type in the large text area.
    • Then type in the bottom text area.
  • There are three areas for images.
    • Click on each area, go to your Documents folder, find the picture you want and click Open.
  • Then click next.
  • Click Save Final.

How to save a file for submission:

  1.  Select your Documents folder as the location to Save In.
  2.  Name the document. You will always name your documents in a similar way.
      • Use the first letter of your first name, followed by your last name, then an underscore (_), then the name of the file.
      • In this case, the file name is missingposter. For example, if my name is John Smith, I would name my file jsmith_missingposter.

  3. Click Save. Your file is in your Documents folder.

Submit your file to the teacher:

  1. Submit your completed Missing poster.
  2. Click on the Add Submission button to upload your document.
