L3 Two-Step Transformations
Completion requirements
Unit A: Geometry
Chapter 2: Transformations
Two-Step Transformations
What transformations (movements) are applied to pentagon LMNOP to produce image Q?
Could the transformation be a translation (horizontal and/or vertical movement covered in Lesson 2)? Could the image be a reflection in the x-axis?
Is it possible to apply two transformations to a figure?
If a reflection is applied to figure LMNOP and then a translation is applied to the image, then pentagon Q could be produced.

If a reflection is applied to figure LMNOP and then a translation is applied to the image, then pentagon Q could be produced.
When figure LMNOP is reflected in the x-axis, the reflected image, L'M'N'O'P', is the result.

Figure L'M'N'O'P' is translated horizontally 3 units to the right and vertically 2 units down to obtain the final image, L"M"N"O"P".
Note: indicates that two transformations have occurred, so L"M"N"O"P" would be the second image that is produced.
