Unit D: Graphing

Graphing Skills

Every day, decisions must be made based on the data that is provided.

An outfit picked to wear in the morning

is dependent on the weather forecast for that day.

The type of car purchased

is dependent on the amount of money that is saved.

The groceries chosen

are dependent on the meal planned for supper.

In this lesson, it will be demonstrated how one set of data is dependent on another set of data and how this relates to creating a graph.

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to

  • identify the relationship between two variables on a graph as linear or non-linear
  • identify the independent variables and the dependent variables
  • identify discrete and continuous data
  • sketch the graph for a given table of values
