Extrapolation
Extrapolation uses data and graphs to predict new data beyond the range of data collected. In extrapolation, the line is extended to provide an estimated value beyond the given points.Given the graph, convert 26 cm to inches.

The first step is to extend the line (maintaining the same slope) to go beyond 26 cm on the y-axis. The extension of the line is shown in blue.
To estimate the length of 26 cm in inches, start at 26 cm and draw a horizontal line to the line graph.
Once this is complete, draw a vertical line to the x-axis.

Therefore, 26 cm is approximately 10.4 inches (a little less than 10.5 inches) using the method of extrapolation.
