A growth chart is a type of graph that medical professionals use to track a child’s height and weight. A growth chart is a useful tool to monitor a child’s development over time.
Roof pitch, also referred to as slope, indicates the steepness of a
roof. The slope of a roof is an important measurement since it has an
effect on the interior volume of a building, the drainage, and the style
and determines which type of roofing materials will work effectively to
protect a home.
In this lesson, slopes and graphs of linear relations will be applied to real-life situations.
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to

- create a graph to represent a set of data
- solve a problem that uses the equation of a linear relation
- relate slope, or rate of change, to a linear relation
- solve a problem that requires interpolation or extrapolation of data
