Course Components Breakdown

B. Workbooks

Each unit has two Workbooks, A and B. In each Workbook, you will encounter the following components:

  • Workbook A contains Coach's Corner and Game On! assessments related to the first two or three Lessons in the Module.
  • Workbook B contains Coach's Corner and Game On! assessments related to the remaining Lessons in the Module. In addition, Workbook B contains the unit Time Out (a game and strategy-building assignment) and the Final Review Assignment and Check Point.
  • In the online course, Workbooks are separated into their components (Coach's Corner, Game On!, Time Out, Final Review Assignment, and Check Point) with downloadable Word and PDF documents.
  • Submit the components as you complete them. This allows your marker to provide feedback that you can apply to subsequent course work and exams.

Unit 7 Workbook contains the Course Project and Review. Unit 7 Workbook must be completed before the Final Exam can be written. Contact your teacher if you do not understand fully the project instructions or if you have any difficulty submitting your project.

Submission Methods

  • Online Version - In the online course, you can download the Workbook components and submit them using the assignment pages. Contact your teacher if you are not sure how to do this.
  • Postal Mail - Mail the completed Workbook to an Alberta Distance Learning Centre office. Ensure that you attach sufficient postage by having the envelope weighed at the post office.
  • Electronically - Scan the completed Workbook. Save the file to your computer as Math 20-2 Wkbk# FirstInitial LastName. Then, upload the file using the assignment page.
  • In Person - Drop the completed Workbook at an Alberta Distance Learning Centre office.
  • Fax - Fax the completed Workbook to an Alberta Distance Learning Centre office.

Time Outs strengthen numeracy and reasoning skills by using math strategically.

You will be assessed on your work in the Time Out according to the rubric in the Assessment tab at the top of this page.

  • Assignment assessing content understanding from all Lessons in the Unit.
